As you are all aware, the SF Club-Rave scene is having a bit of  trouble these days.  Big clubs and even bigger parties are being shut down, sold out, or just plain not happening in the first place. Clubs, that have been a staple to the SF dance scene, are no longer around.  The big clubs left are often overcrowded and deluded with people just out to get drunk and/or laid. Yuch!

I see these changes reshaping the scene, but not in the negative ways you first might think. In it's infancy, the House Kulture was strictly underground, like a secret  no one could simply just tell you.  To be clued in to this magic secret, it requires people to experience the House Scene first hand for themselves. Little Parties in Little places with huge vibe, deep love, and mutual understanding were the norm...But these  grew and grew to the big name DJ’s and laser soaked warehouses that we all know so well.  (No disrespect to “Big name “ DJ’s intended, after all, they got to be big names cause they have amazing talents that inspire me always.) At the same time, Madison Avenue saw “Rave Culture” and greedily absorbed it’s most superficial elements.  Now baggy pants and “techno” music are used to sell sneakers and AOL disks look like party flyers.

Recently, and especially in our beautiful city of San FranDISCO, with all the cracking down on raves and closing of clubs, the original flame of house looks like it’s diminishing, right?  WRONG! To me, it’s quite the opposite.  To me, the original flame of house appears to be transforming right back to it's earliest roots of those smaller  places and intimate parties with A WHOLE LOT OF HEART AND VIBE! These smaller venues give great opportunity for talented but unknown DJ’s to play their music for people and really add to and help shape the lexicon of music known world-wide as “The San Francisco Sound”  It's looking like the best is not over and done but is yet to come!

Little parties in venues such as Bohemia, 26Mix, and Club 6 (To name only a few) have had parties with phenomenal vibe!  I can’t help but  think that THAT must have been what is was like at the first small parties in Chicago and New York and London in the earliest  days of the House Music scene!

I feel like we, as lucky members of this very special community,  are all in store for some really amazing developments in the world of House Kulture in the coming months and years.  Like a Christmas present on Dec. 24th....We can shake it, even guess at what it might be, but we won't really know what it is until it is opened. This present isn’t address to just you or just me. This present will be addressed to ALL OF US! This present is something we can only open if we open it TOGETHER, as a COMMUNITY! All I know for sure, is that it is going to  be something very very special, something that each of us have always wanted and something we will all love, Together!  I can hardly wait to see just what it is, but I know the anticipation I feel is also part of this magical gift!

I want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart and soul for being a part of this wonderful family, this unique community. Each of you are a part of the gift as well.  I also want to especially thank my immediate family in this community, The Good Vibe Tribe (GVT).  You people have added more  positivity and love to my life than any of you could ever know, and I thank the cosmos for each of your friendships!  Most of all, I want to thank my future wife, Kelli (DJ Kelliness), who has taught me the true potential of LOVE; Love of Family, Love of Music and Love of  Community.

I am so looking forward to opening “the present” , a bit at a time, with each of you, places all over San FranDISCO and the Bay Area!  We have just got to Keep on Keeping on and the rest will happen by magic, the magic of House!

Until then, PLUR and God Bless,

and of course..............

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
